Eat, Exercise, Drink and be Merry!

Hi!  My name is Kjirsten, I am a 27 year old newlywed and am just starting my first blog!  I decided to blog to tell my story after reading countless blogs and asking myself Why haven’t I started my own?  If the others can do it, hell, so can I!  : )

I decided to create this blog to share my love of living (eating, drinking, working out, sleeping, being the best self I can be).  I am constantly researching, reading and testing new exercises, recipes, cleaning products, foods, anything and everything that will make my life healthier.  I want to be the best I can be, while still having fun and enjoying life.  

Months ago I read Jillian Michaels book: Master Your Metabolism and haven’t looked back since.  If you haven’t read this book yet, I HIGHLY recommend it.  This book changed my life- the way I look at organic foods and products.  At this point, I try and buy as many organics as I can- food, house and beauty products, eliminate as many plastics in the house as I can and live as positively as I can.  : )

Speaking of living as positively as I can, I am newly married!  Wahoo!  : )  It feels so good to be a wife!  Also, my husband and I recently put a down payment on a baby Australian Shepherd!  Our new son is expected to be born on November 15th and we are already proud parents!  I can’t stop buying Aussie books and surfing the internet for as many informative sites as I can find!  I think I am an Aussie expert now!  Incase you don’t know what an Aussie looks like, checkout the pictures below.

Cute Right?  They come in many different colors and are just precious! 

Anyways, so for happy hour tonight, we decided to utilize our back patio and split a bottle of red wine (Zin) and share a baked whole wheat pita with red pepper hummus.  It was delicious!  I took a whole wheat pita, spread just a little olive oil on it and topped it with fresh ground black pepper, a dash of sea salt, crushed red peppers and a sprinkle of parmesan reggiano.   I cooked it under the broiler on high for about 4 minutes.

Happy hour on the patio was awesome!

Keith (the husband!) and I are cooking stir fry tonight for dinner and I can’t wait to share it with you tomorrow!
