I just got back from a great morning walk with the dog, Cameryn and Keith. We used to take the dog for his daily walk in the late afternoon or evening, but not anymore. The temps in Arizona have been so toasty that we worry about bringing both the baby and the dog out into the heat. So, we’ve been going on our daily walk almost first thing. I don’t know what we haven’t been doing it this way sooner since the temps are nice and cool, the pavement isn’t scorching and it is just so calm and peaceful out.
It is a great way to start the day!
And it makes this guy SO happy!
Quincy likes to look at the baby ducks in the pond!
So far, we’ve seen two snakes and I’m hoping we don’t see anymore this season…
Yesterday I had every intention to get into the gym early to workout before I trained my clients but it didn’t happen. So, yesterday was my rest day of the week.
My workouts I need to get done this week still look like this:
45 minutes of cardio
- intervals and strength
- 45 minutes cardio
- intervals and strength
- plyometric workout
I’m planning on getting another cardio sessions done at home today so I can cross another one off the list.
Here are my eats from yesterday. We enjoyed a rare weekday happy hour!
- Breakfast- coffee, Ezekiel wrap with cheese, egg, spinach and salsa
- AM Snack- Clif Mojo bar
- Lunch- Grapefruit, banana and pineapple smoothie + a few crackers
- PM Snack- calamari, wings and 1 glass of wine
- Dinner- Leftover steak fajitas + a scoop of pistachio gelato (my fav flavor)
The only pic I snapped yesterday!
Grapefruit, banana and pineapple smoothie: 1 grapefruit peeled, 1 frozen banana, 1/2 cup pineapple, 1 cup almond milk, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder and handful of ice. Blend! <—I can’t wait to have this again for lunch today!
This morning I have some work I need to get done, followed by my workout. Then I’d love to lay out a little to tan my pasty white skin. But we’ll see!
I feel like I’m so close to being fully back on track after our Minnesota vacation. I think our housing situation is really adding up the stress for me as I’m not as strict as I usually am during the week with getting workouts done, blogging and eating super healthily. I have so many other things on my mind that it is hard for me to stay fully focused! But I’m not too worried about it, I have a feeling I’ll be feeling back like my old self in no time at all!
With that being said, I’m off to get in my cardio while the baby takes her morning nap!
- When you are super stressed out, are you more strict or less strict with working out and eating healthy?
- How hot is it where you live?
- Do you like walking in the mornings or evenings?
