Salad, Cardio and Breakfast

Yesterday turned out to be quite the productive day.  After a long day at work, I came home to clean the house, yet again, for my Mom who gets into town today!  Yay!   We needed to mop and re-vacuum and do some other things around the house.  After the cleaning was complete the Husband and I were ready for dinner.  We had chicken breast we needed to eat so we decided to make our favorite salad at the moment Apple and Gorgonzola.

Yesterday at work I was so tired.  I couldn’t shake my feeling all afternoon.  I just kept having to yawn and my eyes were watering because they were struggling to stay open.  Every now and again, I have one of these days.  I am not  a fan of them.  I decided to get to bed early last night and get a good nights sleep.  Do you ever have these days?  What do you do to shake off the tired feeling?

Here are my snacks from yesterday at work.  Not pictured because I ate it too fast before I could think to take a snap shot of it was a Ezekiel pita with natural nitrate free turkey breast, lettuce and mustard.

Before I left for work I had my flax, chia and cranberry mix.  By the way, do you use white chia seeds or black chia seeds?

On to this AM’s workout…it was a non-intense cardio day.  I decided to do the arc trainer and the stair climber at the gym to lay off my hip.  Here are my stats:

  • Time:  1:01:19
  • Calories:  570 (25% fat)
  • Max Heart Rate:  185bpm (96% max)
  • Average 169bpm (88% max)

Tomorrow’s workout will be intervals and lifting legs and shoulders. 

This morning for breakfast, I had 1 cup of black coffee along with 2 egg whites, 1 egg yolk and a dry piece of Low Sodium Ezekiel Bread.  So good!

Motivation for Today:  Mexico!

Three things I am Thankful for Today:  1- My Mom gets into town today  2-  The Husband made Breakfast today 3-  My workout is already done!  : )

Goal for the Day:  Eat healthy with my Mom in town and train the heck out of my clients today!

Yesterday morning while getting out my vitamins, I started getting curious about what vitamins other people take.  I take the following: D, Prenatal Mutli, Calcium, Fish Oil, Glucosamine.  FYI- when drinking the flax and chia seed drink, I always have to wait a few hours to take my vitamins.  The fiber in the seeds can block some of the absorption of the vitamins.  That wouldn’t be good.   What vitamins do you take or like to take?

    I love love love salads with apple and gorgonzola. And walnuts or pecans. I think that is my favorite combo!

      I so agree! I can’t seem to get enough salads with apples and gorgonzola! I also love having pears on my salads with blue cheese, but haven’t had that for a while! : )

    That salad looks delicious! I like to take vitamin B whenever I am feeling anxious. It really helps to calm my nerves!

    I use black chia seeds, but I never knew that white chia seeds existed! What is the difference?

    As for vitamins, I always take Vitamin B complex & Vitamin C. Then a few days a week I take Acai and Omegas! 🙂

      I am not sure if there even is a difference. I buy the white since they come in a smaller bag and cost less! : )
