Quick Morning Update

I’m a little pressed for time this morning, but here are my workout stats from my run this am:

  • Time:  1:00:08
  • Calories:  572 (25% fat)
  • Max Heart Rate:  190bpm (98% max)
  • Average Heart Rate:  167bpm (87% max)

For my running workout this morning I got in about 5.5 miles.  I walked on an incline of 12% for one song and then ran at the speed of 6.6 (9.05 pace) for two songs.  I love running this way as it makes the time go really fast and also gives my hip a rest about every 10 minutes.  When I got home I used a foam roller on my legs to loosen then up for about 5 minutes.  I hadn’t used the foam roller in a while and am so happy I remembered to use it!  I will definitely have to start doing it on a regular basis!

Breakfast today will be peanut butter toast with fresh cantaloupe and a cup of black coffee!

Morning Meditation

Motivation for the Day:  Mexico- only 18 days left to get ultra fit!  : )

Three Things I am Thankful for Today:  1-My legs for pushing my thru my workout this morning  2-  My Husband for always being amazing  3- the mailman who will deliver the new running shoes soon!

Goal for the Day:  Try to reflect my happiness onto others at the gym.  Try and motivate a few people who are looking lost with their workout!  : )

Mexican Salad and 1/2 Marathon

Tonight for dinner we made a Mexican inspired salad. 

Mexican Salad

Here are the ingredients:

  • Spring Mix
  • Tomato
  • Broccoli
  • Avocado
  • Red Bell Pepper
  • Chicken Breast
  • Garlic Salad Dressing
  • Red Onion
  • Organic Pepper Jack Cheese

It was amazing!  : )  It was hearty,  yet healthy.  The perfect blend of protein, fiber, vitamins and carbs!

I decided today that I am going to run the Sedona 1/2 marathon in February.  The last time I ran the Sedona 1/2 was about 2 years ago.  The Husband and I decided to run one without properly training.  I think we went on three runs (8, 10 and 11 mile) to prep and it wasn’t enough.  We also ran those three runs on flat trails.  When we got to the race we learned it was going to be on pavement and really, I mean really hilly!  Although we made it thru the race (2:29), our bones were killing us.  I have bad knees, hips and a bad left foot and without properly training, my body takes a toll. 

February 2009- I forgot to mention Sedona was freezing the day of the race!

After we get back from Mexico, I will start training properly and can’t wait for race day to get here!  : )  I am trying to convince the Husband to run it with me, but so far, I haven’t been lucky.  Maybe with time…(sigh)!
