Quick Weekend Post

2 Apr

A few days ago my phone broke.  Cry.  I felt like I was lost without it and today I finally got a new one….as did the Husband!

We have been a little behind in the whole smart phone era…we were using phones that were a year and a half old (gasp) and they didn’t quite measure up to all the cool new cell’s on the market today.  I had no idea I was so far behind technology and to be honest just didn’t see the need in having a phone with more options then making calls and texting.

Let me just tell you, I feel like we just crawled out from under the rock we have been hanging around.  For the better part of the day, I have been on the new phone non-stop.  I NEVER skip snacks, and today I skipped both my AM and PM snack.  So not like me.  I would have forgot to eat dinner if the Husband hadn’t mentioned that he was getting hungry and we should maybe eat.

This new awesomeness is also making me a bad Mom.  The puppy is attention starved and staring at me while I type this.

Okay, other than playing on the phone, I did squeeze in a fantastic workout.  We lifted back and triceps today and spent a little over an hour in the gym.  By the end of the workout I couldn’t even move my upper body I was so exhausted.  Right after the workout, we spent 2.5 hours with our new best friend Seth at the Verizon store.  I’m not joking, we were in the store that long.  It was SO worth it as that is where my new obsession was born!  : )

We also squeezed in a 1.5-2 mile jog with the puppy once we returned home with our new gadgets.  So, he did get a little attention today.  : )  After our jog, we turned on the Final Four basketball games.  I’m so thrilled Butler won.  I’m now in the championship game with the fantasy league I’m playing in.

Eats over the past few days were pretty simple, PB toast in the morning, we had a grilled chicken breast salad and tonight we had organic grass fed beef tacos for dinner.  So Yum!

Friday, since it was 86 degrees out, we took advantage of the weather and headed to The Raven Cafe for lunch.  We split a Ruben with sweet potato fries.  The fries were under cooked so I ate maybe two total.  But I did enjoy the Ruben with loads of cabbage in it.

They have the best patio in Prescott!  I forgot to take a picture of the sandwich since we started to burn and had to move to a different table in the shade.  During our move I stuck the camera into my purse!  Next time I’ll remember since the sandwich is amazing!

That has been my weekend in a nutshell.  Since we didn’t get anything done today, we have a jam packed day tomorrow starting with Church followed by some cardio!

I hope you all are having a fantastic weekend!

Question:  Are you as crazy about your phone as I am?  Any fun apps you recommend?

In the beginning of the year my phone broke right before I was going back to school. First we had a snow storm that closed everything down in Southern VA for about 3 days. For swim team we had a training trip to Puerto Rico and they were sold out of the phone I wanted when I made it to the store so they had to mail it to my house at home. So then my parents mailed it to my house up here and needless to say I didn’t have a phone for three weeks.

Totally agree about the phone. I lost mine on a busines trip & was stranded for four days without a phone. I was a disaster without it!

Sounds like you have a great weekend planned!

Haha, like you I had never had a “smart phone” until last weekend I finally got an iphone. I LOVE it!! I tell my husband everyday how much I love it. 😉 My favorite app so far is the Run Meter. It keeps track of your distance, pace, avg, route, etc. Between that and having my music on my phone, I can give up having to take my ipod and Garmin to go out on walks and jogs.
