Week 11 Pregnancy Update- Lime

11 Aug

I’m so happy to be a lime this week!  In my head, that sounds so big already!  This week has been the best yet, as we were able to see pictures of our baby on an ultrasound and hear his/her heartbeat, 176bpm!  : )

All my weeks of sickness and torture vanished from my memory when I saw my baby for the first time.  Suffering from morning sickness for six weeks was totally worth it!

How Big is Baby?

Your fetus currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through. But, fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds and nail beds are forming — setting up a significantly more attractive future (thebump.com)

And for a little more…

Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.

She’s already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won’t feel your baby’s acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming. (Babycenter.com)

How I’m Feeling Physically

This week hasn’t been bad at all.  I actually got to skip the first three days, as my dating scan measured the baby at 11 weeks and 2 days, while I thought I was only 10+6.  So, week 11 has really flown by!  I’ve had a few headaches, but absolutely no morning sickness, besides a little nausea here and there!  Yay!  I’m getting more and more energy each day, but my body would still like to sneak in an afternoon nap if time permits!

I still haven’t felt anymore tickles/flutters.  I’m waiting patiently!

How I’m Feeling Emotionally

I have been on cloud nine this week knowing that we have a healthy baby growing in my belly!  I was so ecstatic for days after seeing our baby and have to look at his/her picture all the time during the day!  I can’t wait for our next ultrasound in 8 weeks (ugh) where we get to see Baby Conrad again and find out the gender of the baby!  I have been so antsy to know the gender.  I really hope these next eight weeks go quickly!  I feel like I just NEED to know!  In other news, we have decided on the top names we like for both boys and girls, which is exciting!  A name made the list I never thought would, but I love it and it is my number one boys name at the moment.  We decided to keep the names to ourselves and surprise everyone with it once the baby is born.  We have shared so much of the pregnancy with all our friends and family that we decided this would be our secret.  Also, we didn’t want anyone to influence our decision for the name.  : )

Odd Ramblings

  • Sleep- I’m still loving it and need about 8-9 hours at night and I would still nap a few hours a day, although that is rare.
  • Cravings- Gummy Bears, Mozzarella Sticks, Melon
  • Foods I can’t stand- Fish, Salad (even though I’ve been eating them for dinner), Vegetables in general
  • Workouts this Week- None!
  • Thing I’m most Looking Forward too- Second Trimester, only about 2 weeks to go!

We had a list of top boys/girls names too 😉 It was so exciting in those weeks (every week really!). And now that we are 20+ weeks, it’s becoming so much more real. Since we are having a boy, we’ve narrowed it down to 2-3 names and we have shared with some family and friends.

The nesting thing is also in full force!

I can’t wait until we know what we are having so we can really focus on the names. If we have a girl, the middle name is already picked out, but with a boys middle name we are so torn.
