Swanson Vitamins Face Creams, Shampoo & Conditioner Reviews

13 Aug

I’m very picky with the foods I buy to put into my body, and I’m becoming just as picky with what bathroom products I use to get ready with.  Right now, my favorite brands are Alba, Avalon Organics and Burt’s Bees.  I use Alba body wash, Avalon Organic Body Lotion, Shampoo and Condition and Burt’s Bees Tummy Butter (to prevent stretch marks on my growing pregnancy belly).

When I had the chance to pick out products from swansonvitamins.com, I knew I wanted to review some natural bathroom products.  I was given $25 dollars to spend on the items I wanted to review and were given all the products below for free.

I decided to order the Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and Tea Tree Oil Conditioner.

I also ordered some face creams.  I ordered the Retinol Cream and the Wrinkle Cream with DMAE and CoQ10

I’ve had a very great experience with Swanson Vitamins and would gladly order products from them again.  I went online to their online store and easily was able to search for products I wanted.  The entire shopping experience was simple and so was their checkout process, which is a plus in my eyes.

A couple days later, my package was at my front door.  I was amazed at how quick the order came.  Everything in the box was in perfect condition and I was excited to get using the creams and shampoo and conditioner.  The only thing I didn’t like was the extra large box they used to ship my order in.  I thought it was a little wasteful coming from a company who puts out concern for health and the environment (at least that is what I got from their website).

I decided to wait to write my review until I had a couple weeks to fully test out the products.

So, lets start with the Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and Conditioner.  I think this is a great product especially given the price, only $7.49, for two 16oz bottles.  This is a heck of a deal.  I loved that the shampoo really got foamy as you massage it into your scalp.  I can’t stand when shampoos don’t do that.  The conditioner left my hair silky smooth, I liked leaving it one for about 3 minutes to really soak into my hair and scalp.  My only negative comment about this product is that it doesn’t really have a smell to it.  This however wouldn’t make me not order the product again though.  I just am used to using Avalon Organics Lavender shampoo and conditioner and right when you start using it, the smell of lavender fills the shower.  That is the only negative I see with this product, but overall I really enjoyed using Swanson Vitimins Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and Conditioner.  I would order it again.

The Retinol Cream has been great as well.  I haven’t used a whole lot of it because using too much retinol in general while pregnant has been linked to birth defects.  I only use it sparingly about once every three or four days and only started using it after I reach my second trimester.  I really like the texture of this cream and how it applies and smoothes onto the face so easily.  I would recommend this product to non-pregnant women.  It is $6.99 for 2oz.  A steal of a deal!

Onto the Wrinkle Cream with DMAE and CoQ10.  I really love this product!  It is $8.99 for 2oz, but that 2oz will last you a long time.  I typically use two squirts of the product and it is plenty to cover my whole face.  Since I’ve only been using the product for a couple weeks, I haven’t seen any noticeable change in wrinkles on my face, but I can tell you my skin is feeling so much more hydrated and silky than it was before.  I highly recommend this product and will be ordering it again when I run out!  Another reason I love this product is that it is paraben free which is a huge plus in my book!    : )

Please check out swansonvitamins.com as they have so many products available.  They have everything from bathroom products to food products as well as lots of natural and organic brands.  I was very impressed with the selection of items and hope you all go check them out!  : )

Most of these sound like something I would use. I’m extremely particular about what kind of shampoo and conditioner I use. Mostly because my hair becomes a hot mess if I don’t use the right products.

I hear you on having to use certain products! I am very picky because I don’t like when certain products don’t leave my hair silky smooth!

Thanks for the review! I love trying new face lotions, and am still trying to find ones I love. What is the difference between the retinol and wrinkle cream? I thought wrinkle creams usually contain retinol, so I was just wondering what the benefit of having them separate is?
