Is it a Boy or Girl? Plus Weekend Recap.

12 Sep

Good morning Blog World!!!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Are you guys getting cooler weather where you are?  Our weather sure is cooling off.  I love it!  It went from being around 95 degrees for months to all of a sudden 81 degrees being the high!  Only in a matter of a few days.  I love the new cool weather, the only problem is, I haven’t bought any maternity clothes yet, and dressing for the new weather is becoming a bit of a problem since none of my fall (cooler weather) clothes are fitting properly.  It might finally be time to give in and buy some clothes for my getting-bigger-by-the-second belly.

Well, it’s here! Today is the day I’ve been waiting for my entire life!  The day I’ve dreamt of since I was a little girl, well not actually but I have been dreaming of it for almost the last 5 months!  Today Keith and I find out if we are having a baby boy or baby girl!  I am giddy with excitement, over the moon happy and on cloud nine as in only a few short hours (10 to be exact!!!) we will find out!  I have a mother’s instinct we are having a girl, and Keith is certain (father’s instinct), we are having a boy.  We shall see who is right!

Since I couldn’t just let the weeks go by, here are some of the tests I’ve tried:

  • Chinese Gender Calendar- Girl
  • Baking Soda Test- Boy
  • String and Ring or Needle Test- Boy (I performed this one about 100 times)
  • Online Gender Prediction Quiz- Girl (73%)
  • Looking Worse Overall- Girl
  • Morning Sickness- Girl (although my sister and mom never experienced morning sickness and they have only had girls.  So maybe a boy?)
  • Craving Mostly Fruit- Girl

The mystery will be solved soon and my baby will be the owner of one of the following:

The brown fake fur vest- I have been looking at this vest for about a month now, everyday.  I went on right now to pull the picture of it, and it is completely sold out….on the day I wanted to post it and we find out the baby’s gender.  I’m a huge believer in signs and am now questioning if I am having a baby boy based on this vest I have been lusting over being off the website!  : )

And, this cute little cuddly hoodie set if Baby Conrad is a boy!

In about a week, we are heading to Minnesota for a friends wedding and to visit family.  I haven’t seen my dad, sister or niece in over a year and can’t wait to see them and just spend time with them.  My mom is going to be out of town the first half of our trip, but will be home the last couple of days we are there.  Mom, if you are reading this (and I know you are), you better have your shopping pants on and ready to go!  Minnesota has no sales tax on clothes so I plan to stock up a bit (it beats paying almost 9% where we live)!  I can’t wait to hit up Baby Gap.  We don’t have one near us and I just think their clothes are uber adorable!

Onto other news, Weekend Recap…

Friday we went to happy hour with some friends.  I had calamari (split with Keith) and a side salad.  It was delicious!

Saturday, we actually worked all day.  We got up by 5:45am and didn’t stop to take a breath until 3pm.  We went back to Firehouse, where we had had happy hour the night before for a late lunch/early dinner.  This time I had the calamari tacos.  Excellent!  The calamari at the Firehouse isn’t little rings, it is calamari steaks cut into long strips and barely breaded.  They have the best calamari I’ve ever had so I tend to order it a lot when we do go there.

Sunday was filled with football.  We got up super early and I ended up getting all my errands and chores done by around 11:00am.  The rest of the day was spent making food like Julie’s Two Ingredient Crockpot Chicken and watching our Vikings lose their first game.

Tropical Fruit-  Papaya, Pineapple and Cantaloupe

Shrimp Cocktail

Chips and Greek Yogurt Dip

Pulled Chicken Sandwiches

Workouts of the Week Recap…

This past week, I was only able to get in four workouts.  I blame it on being tired and pumpkin spice lattes luring me to Starbucks in the morning instead of the gym.  In all honesty, I probably could have got in another workout in but just didn’t.  This week I will get in my five workouts.  As far as yoga goes, I didn’t even do it once.  This week my goal is three sessions.  I can do it!  If I don’t do it right after work, it wont get done, so I plan on fitting it in, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

We are doing a poll to see what people think I’m having, a boy or a girl.  Right now they are neck in neck and actually tied.

Question of the Day:

  • What do you think I’m having, a baby boy or baby girl?

I plan on announcing the exciting news on my blog tomorrow!

I think you are going to have a boy! I’m not sure why, but it is my guess 🙂

I LOVE the baby outfits !

I’ve got a girl feeling on this one…I was half and half too with all the gender prediction things. I think the one that is always most true is where you are carrying and I’m carrying low. But then again, so are hmm. My gut still says girl.

That fur outfit is beyond precious!

I am carrying low, of what I can tell. I would love a girl or a boy! I just wish time was going faster today, we have always had early Drs appointments and this is our first late afternoon and I’m getting so antsy!

I think you’re having a girl because mothers know. When my mom had me they didn’t find out the gender and everyone thought she was having a boy. But she knew I was a girl. If you think its a girl, I’m going girl.

haha! I have been going back and forth on if its a boy or girl, but I dreamt it was a girl last night so I’m going with that!

That’s so exciting! I know lots of couples don’t want to know, but I’ll definitely want to know. I’d be waaaay to impatient otherwise. I’m sure you’ll fill us all in soon!

Yes, I am way to Type A to not know. I can’t wait to start planning and buying stuff once we find out! I think 20 weeks is long enough to wait so I look at it like it’s still a surprise! I don’t think I could ever not find out!!!

  5. Heather September 12, 2011 at 9:12 am #

Yay! That is so exciting, and it’s a great feeling knowing the gender so you can stop saying “the baby” and start using “he or she”!! I have a feeling its a girl too. I can’t wait to hear 😉

    Can’t wait to hear! yay:)

I have a feeling it will be a girl! It seems like everyone I know who got pregnant at the beginning of the year is having a boy, and those that are getting pregnant around mid to end of year are having girls. And I just love love those outfits you have for your boy or girl – too cute! Can’t wait to hear the news! 🙂

We have to wait until Thursday now to determine if its a boy or girl! I have a gut feeling its a girl as well though! Only a few more days to go!
