Week 23 Pregnancy Update

How Big is Baby?

When I went to check to see what vegetable or fruit the baby would be this week, I noticed there were no new updates on thebump.com until week 25.  So basically at this point, according to them, the baby is still about the size of a papaya or in other words BIG!  I read that the baby will be growing 4-6 ounces each week for another couple weeks!  I can’t believe it!  No wonder I’m gaining weight!  🙂

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she’s more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby’s increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won’t faze her when she hears them outside the womb (babycenter.com).

How I’m Feeling Physically

Physically, I’m really starting to feel the toll of pregnancy on my body.  I’ve noticed the weight gain everywhere and could tell I have extra cushioning in my backside as I was on the treadmill yesterday.  All my clothes are now tight and shirts that used to be long on me are now short and show my stomach!  My energy has been good this week, but I can start to see a decline.  I’m not as go go go for the whole day and for a couple days this past week almost had a blanket of tiredness over me.  I’m really hoping my energy levels aren’t starting to go down already as I have so much to do before the baby is here.  I’m still working out five days a week and trying to get in 3 yoga sessions a week.  In addition to walking to dog, I can say I fall asleep easy at night.  Sleeping through the night is another story.  With the back pain and my fear of sleeping on my back, I usually wake up about every hour.  I’ll take whatever I need to in order to produce a healthy baby though!

How I’m Feeling Emotionally

Emotionally, this week has been stressful.  I feel the baby move a lot on some days and then on others I don’t feel her at all.  This really stresses me out, especially when I don’t feel her for days at a time.  My brain goes crazy until I feel a kick.  I did see the doctor on Friday for my monthly check up and everything was good!  So I know she is fine, but I just worry (I tend to be a huge worrywart).  We were able to listen to her heart beat again, I cherish hearing her little heart beat.  We only heard it for about ten seconds this past appointment, but I’ll take what I can get (the doctor was super busy and behind schedule).  I was measuring small, so the doctor pushed my due date back to February 8th.  I think Keith was secretly happy as Cameryn’s due date is no longer Super Bowl Sunday!  🙂  I’ve been going with the 8th or 11th so having them push my due date back a few days didn’t bother me at all.  Other than being stressed out about the baby not moving, I’m still super excited and can’t believe in a little over 3 months our little peanut will be here! 

Odd Ramblings

  • Weight Gained:  13-14lbs
  • New Due Date According to the Doctor:  February 8th
  • Weeks Until the Next Ultrasound:  6-8 (it will be 3D and I can’t wait)
  • Cravings:  Pears, salmon
  • Things I Still Can’t Stomach:  White fish
  • Days Until our Next Visitor: 42, my Dad is coming right after Thanksgiving
  • Days Until Keith Turns 30: 1

I don’t really have many since our camera broke and we are still waiting to hear back from Best Buy if they are going to replace it or give us a store credit.  I hate not having a camera!!!

Pet Peeves

*Note:  This post was written on Tuesday and meant to be published on Tuesday.  I just lost track of time and never published it!*

Hello, Hello!

Our temps are finally cooling and we are only going to be in the 70s today!  Yay!  I’ll take 79 degrees any day over 85 degrees!

This week is a pretty busy week as Keith turns 30 on Thursday.  I feel like I have so many little things left to do before then, so today after work I’m on a mission to finish up his birthday “stuff”.  Tomorrow I’m going to attempt to bake his a yellow cake as requested.  One of my goals for 2011 was to learn how to bake.  I must say I’m an excellent cook, but baking has never been my forte.  When he asked me to bake his a cake, I was happy to say yes, and I can’t wait to see what comes out of the oven tomorrow!  But until then, I need to get all the supplies to make a yellow cake with chocolate butter cream frosting and boost my baking confidence! 

One fun things that happened unexpectedly was receiving a package from Pottery Barn Kids in the mail at work.  I saw my name on it and assumed it was something from our registry!  And it was!  We are not having a baby shower since we are not planning on going back to Minnesota before the baby is born, but I still created a registry for the completion programs.  For those not familiar with completion programs, they allow you to buy at a discount items on your registry that didn’t get bought.2011-10-17 13.18.08

Here is baby Cameryn’s first items from Pottery Barn…thanks Mom!  I have a feeling she is going to be one spoiled little girl!  🙂

Eats from yesterday:

  • Breakfast-  1/2 banana, 1 cup coffee and and egg and cheese English muffin sandwich
  • AM Snack-  Apple and Larabar
  • Lunch-  English muffin with almond butter and raspberry jelly (I was trying to get the baby to move)
  • PM Snack-  Peanuts
  • Dinner-  2 small fajitas
  • After Dinner Snack-  3-4 heaping handfuls of popcorn

I wont do a huge workout recap from last week this week, but I did get in all 5 of my gym workouts and did yoga twice.  My goal for this week is getting in my 5 gym workouts and at least 3 yoga workouts.

My workout from yesterday was a rest day!  ❤ ❤ ❤  Keith and I actually slept in past 6am which is pretty unheard of for both of us.  It felt great.  I’ve been noticing my energy levels have started dropping and I hope not for good as I near the third trimester.  I was extremely tired yesterday and kind of feel the same way again today.

 

So I know we all have them, I don’t believe someone if they tell me they don’t.  What I’m talking about are pet peeves.  Weird little things that totally bug the crap out of you.  Here are my top pet peeves:

  • Hearing someone breathing
  • When the toilet paper is coming under not over the roll
  • When someone doesn’t take the 2 seconds it takes to put the toilet paper on the roll and instead just sits it onto of the old roll
