Where did this weekend go? I can’t believe it is already Sunday evening! This weekend was very productive over at the Conrad house. Here is a recap:
Friday after work, we took the dog for a walk and then decided instead of going out to eat, we would make homemade pizza. We really wanted to try to make thin crust pizza using our pizza dough recipe to make two pizzas instead of one thick crust pizza.
But, before we could get our pizza making on, I got an email from Target saying they cancelled my stroller order. If you remember, about a month ago, we received our car seat and stroller in the mail but had to get a replacement for the stroller since it had a defect. I was surprised that they had cancelled my order since I had received another email from them telling me my stroller should have been delivered on Thursday. Needless to say, after almost an hour on the phone and getting transferred to a higher up, I had to reorder the stroller while accepting a credit to my card I used to pay for it. They still couldn’t give me a reason why my order was cancelled but did throw in express two day shipping on my new stroller order! Yay! I’m glad I don’t have to pay the $125 shipping charge!
Okay, back to the pizza, we made two and they both turned out great. We decided to use cookie sheets since they would make the dough a little thinner than our usual pizza pans. We made one pizza with mozzarella, ham, mushroom, onion and black olives and another with a little pepperoni, pepper jack cheese, mushroom, onion, black olives, green bell pepper and jalapenos. My personal favorite was the spicy pizza but Keith and I both agreed these were our best homemade pizzas yet. We perfected the thin crust. I’ll post the new updated pizza crust recipe this week.
Saturday was spent running errands and doing chores up until about 2pm when my pregnant self crashed. I literally couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer and just needed to rest. We woke up at 4:45am (since we fell asleep so early on Friday) and I started my day with a few loads of laundry, house cleaning and cleaning the carpets off all our rooms expect the baby’s room. Keith had to step in and take over the carpet cleaning as the machine is so heavy and gave me an intense back ache. Oh, did I mention I also cleaned them using only the water cycle so I didn’t even clean them in the hour I spent on them.
Once the carpet was cleaned, we then proceeded to clean all three of our gyms and sneak in a leg workout. While we were out and about, I wanted to stop by Kohl’s as I had a free $10 coupon to spend. I picked out three super cute glittery shirts for the baby and checked out. While checking out, I looked up and realized I had cut in front of maybe 30 people who looked like they had all been waiting for a while. Whoops. No one said anything…probably because they saw my giant baby bump and the two people at the register just laughed when I told them I just realized I had budged in line. When we got home, we took the dog for a walk and then I needed my nap.
For dinner, we went to the Firehouse Kitchen. I ordered the salmon and it was wonderful. It also came with a generous house salad and popovers. I love their salmon and order it every time we go there for dinner. Keith got a rolled and stuffed steak and chose a tomato bisque soup. I tried a bite and it was fab!
Baby bump before dinner. I’m sorry for wearing the same things in all my pictures, I’m somewhat limited in my maternity fashion! As you can see, the bump is getting big. I’m also still sporting the unhealthy pale as a ghost look.
For reasons unbeknownst to me, we woke up even earlier on Sunday, 4:30am. After trying to fall back asleep for a little bit we decided to get up and get our day going. Before we knew it, it was time to head to 7am church. After church, we stopped by the store where Keith grabbed a bag of hash browns and I picked up a bottle of sparkling apple cider! I can’t wait to try it as a little treat today.
Besides church, I did more laundry, cleaned out our master bathroom linen closet and also my vanity. By the time I was done I had seven bags of garbage. I’m so proud at how neat and organized all my drawers are! I love it. Keith and I also moved the furniture out of the baby’s room and into the old exercise room. We set up room as an exercise / fun room now (since there is now a couch, huge ottoman and board games). We weren’t sure we were going to be able to fit everything we had to in that room, but we managed and are super excited not to have to move the elliptical to another room. Once the baby’s room and new exercise room are complete I’ll post before and after pictures!
Besides boring chores…
Today is Quincy’s first birthday so we tried to make him feel extra special all day. He had my leftover salmon from Firehouse Kitchen, he had scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and we have been playing ball with him since we all woke up. He is one spoiled dog. Little does he know he is going in to the vet tomorrow to get neutered!
Well that is a lengthy weekend recap and for those of you who are still reading here are a few cute puppy Quincy pictures from his first year of life:
See you guys in the morning with the new updated pizza crust recipe!
