Wednesday Recap

Hey guys!

Today was a long and rather busy day.  Aren’t they all though? 

The majority of my day was spent with the baby.  Lately she needs to be by me or held almost 24/7!  If I put her down, she screams!  It’s hard to even go to the bathroom without her working herself into a tizzy.  I’m thinking maybe a tooth is going to appear soon?  I also made a trip to Costco and stocked up on some healthy eats (spring mix, eggs, spinach, water and so on) and Keith and I looked at a few houses since our rental house is now foreclosed on and we’ll probably have to move rather soon.

Anyways, I’m going to keep this post short and sweet and just get down to the good stuff.  Here is my workout and eats from today!

WORKOUT

Today’s workout (number 3 for the week) was plyometrics!  I love this workout because it goes so quickly, but I need to change it up just a bit as I’ve been doing the same thing for a couple months now.  Although it is still really challenging and keeps my heart rate sky high, I think to keep my interested I need to shake things up a bit!

The workout took me about 50 minutes to complete and I was a sweaty mess when it was over!

Here is where I stand with accomplishing my workouts this week:

  • Monday- 45 minutes cardio + core (at home)
  • Tuesday- 45 minutes cardio + core (at home)
  • Wednesday- Plyometric workout (at home)
  • Thursday- Intervals + legs, pecs and triceps (gym)
  • Friday- 45 minutes cardio (at home)
  • Saturday- Intervals + back, biceps and shoulders

I’m looking forward to getting into the gym tomorrow morning.  Today’s workouts was spent entertaining the baby as well.  So there were a few stops along the way!  But as a new mom, I do what I need to do to get my workouts in during the day.  It would be so easy not to workout right now, but I know taking a little bit of time for myself each day helps me be a better mom to Cameryn.  Also, it keeps my body stronger and healthier and give me some much needed added energy.

No matter how busy you are, there’s always time to squeeze in some type of exercise!

EATS

My eats were pretty healthy minus the potato chips.  For some reason salty foods have been sounding so good to me.  Not sure why since I tend to stay away from salt in general.

  • Breakfast- Coffee, Ezekiel English muffin with egg, cheese, spinach and salsa
  • AM Snack- Clif Mojo bar
  • Lunch- Banana berry smoothie  <–  I made it extra big today since I was pretty hungry after my workout
  • PM Snack- Potato chips, 2 scoops of raw almond butter
  • Dinner- Massive salad with chicken, tomatoes, red onion, gorgonzola cheese, walnuts, cucumbers and homemade balsamic vinegar dressing

The only pic of my food from yesterday!  I refilled this bowl once more!  So delicious on a HOT summer day!

    I know what you mean – its hard to find time to workout with a baby but you have to do it! It feels so good just to get that “me” time in at least once a day. It makes me in such a huge difference in my mood and just the way I feel in general.]
    I usually only get time to workout at night when H goes to bed around like 7:30 or 8pm. During the day lately we are always gone when she naps (looking for and touring houses!) But since I am home today, I am going to try and at least get in some Netflix once she falls asleep (I wish I had a elliptical and treadmill in our condo unit, since I can’t leave her and just go downstairs to the gym!) but I’ll go down and do my cardio once she goes to bed tonight when Chase is home. I have been doing the elliptical for 45 in addition to your interval workout (last two workouts) and can barely move afterwards but it feels soo good!! I am obsessed with intervals now. I have to try your plyo workout next… but its hard cuz I don’t know what all names of the moves are… I guess I should just google the names of them… lol
    My favorite smoothie flavors are Kale/PB2 or Kale/Raw Cacao, citrus, or Kombucha with strawberries & bananas & 1 tbsp, lime juice, or berry banana like you! YUM I could probably eat a smoothie for every meal… and honestly I usually do… for about two meals every single day. 🙂

      I just made a spinach PB2 smoothie today for the first time in a while. I had kind of forgot about that smoothie. I get in smoothie kicks and forget about old favorites!
      Anytime the baby goes down for a nap I try to get in my workout at home. I could go to the gym when Keith gets home from work but I’ve never been good at working out in the afternoon. I like doing it very first thing but have been making mid morning my new workout time since that is when Cameryn naps. I’m glad you’re loving intervals! I just did a set today with strength! I like that they go by quickly since you’re always changing up the speed and they burn twice as much fat as steady state! So if you do 20 minutes, it’s like you’re doing 40 minutes of regular cardio!
      Let me know what moves you need help with, maybe I can post some pics or explain them to you! Plyos are great since they keep your heart rate up so high and burn lots of calories too!
