Busy Monday, to Start the Week

Hey there!

How was your weekend?

Ours’ was great!  It felt long and since it rained all weekend long, we had a lot of time to kick our feet up and relax. 

One random tidbit form our weekend was when we went out for our morning walk with Quincy on Saturday we literally saw hundreds of frogs.  There were huge adult frogs but mostly baby frogs.  They started to gross me out as there were a lot that were road kill, you had to watch where you stepped the whole walk.  I could have actually of been toads, but I can never tell the difference.  I’ve never seen frogs/toads while I’ve lived in Arizona, but I guess there is a first for everything.  I felt like I was in movie Magnolia.  Have you guys ever seen it?  It rains frogs in the movie.  Since it was just about to rain outside I totally felt I was in the movie…

Cameryn’s Hospital Scare



Today started out with one of my planned workouts, a 5am cardio session for 45 minutes followed by core work.  It took me about an hour total to finish and I felt so good to be done with my workout by 6am!  It did help that Cameryn woke me up at 4:40 this morning, so I was all set to go.

That means only four more workouts need to be completed by next Monday, I think I can handle that!  Smile

  • 45 minutes cardio + core
  • 45 minutes cardio + core
  • 20 minutes intervals on treadmill + strength
  • 20 minutes intervals on treadmill + strength
  • Plyometric workout



My eats over the past week and weekend were healthy.  Lots of smoothies, Ezekiel  English muffins with peanut butter and fig butter, salmon, brown rice and vegetables, homemade beef tacos and I’ve been snacking on nuts and Greek yogurt.


My weight hasn’t changed for about a month and even though I lost all my baby weight plus more, I’d like to lose about another five pounds.  So, I’m going to really step up and make sure I’m eating extremely healthy and sticking with lots of vitamin C, vegetables and lean proteins until I hit my goal.  Since I’m still breastfeeding I have to be careful to keep my calories high enough to keep my milk supply high while also taking in enough to give me enough energy for my workouts and for my daily activities.

My eats so far from today have been the following:

  • Breakfast (post workout)- decaf coffee + Ezekiel English muffin with peanut butter and fig butter
  • AM Snack-  Clif Mojo bar
  • Lunch- Homemade turkey panini with artichoke, spinach, parmesan cheese and sliced tomatoes  <—it was amazing, we had turkey to eat up so I skipped my usual smoothie for lunch and made this amazing sandwich.
  • PM Snack-  Homemade grapefruit orange juice (1 grapefruit + 1 small orange blended with a splash of water and ice cubes)

I haven’t had dinner yet, but were planning on grilling some chicken breast I picked up today and have marinating along with a salad to put it over.


Here is our weekly meal plan for the week.  I can’t wait for rigatoni pasta tomorrow!  I might even make it tonight as it gets better overnight with all the flavors marinating!

  • Monday-  Salad with grilled chicken breast
  • Tuesday-  Tuna rigatoni pasta and garlic green beans
  • Wednesday-  Leftover tuna rigatoni pasta and green salad
  • Thursday-  Salad with chicken breast
  • Friday-  Whatever we pick
  • Saturday- Turkey burgers

*Meal planning not only makes sure I stick with a healthy diet, and get in all my vegetables and enough protein, but it also saves us a lot of money.  I used to wonder the grocery stores buying anything and everything that looked good, but now I just buy what we need instead.  Smile


This morning was filled with running errands, stocking up on groceries and other items for the week ahead.  I hit up Target, New Frontiers (our local organic grocery store), Trader Joe’s and Costco. 

While I was out and about, I was just leaving TJ’s and I was backing up out of my stall, right when I was going to put the car into drive (from reverse) a car laid on their horn at me for about 5 seconds as they sped around my car.  I couldn’t believe it.  Some people are so rude!  I always stop so whoever was backing up from a parking spot before I was driving by can finish backing out, do you?  I thought it was just common sense.  When I got a glimpse into the car, it was this little old lady! 

So, the Question of the Day is:

  • Do you yield to cars that is currently in the process of backing up (out of a parking spot) or do you continue driving and make them stop?

With that, I’m off to head out on a walk with the dog and the family!  I hope I don’t see any more frogs!


Baby George Washington diaper head!  Please tell me you’ve done this with your baby?  Keith and I got a good giggle last night and again today!  Smile

    OMG yess! I sooo do the GW diaper head thing 😛 Its the cutest thing ever. Cameryn is adorable, she looks like a little pioneer girl. 🙂 Hope you have a great day!

    haha… How cute! I haven’t done the diaper head thing w/ my son Ethan! Totally doing that this evening! 🙂 I love Chobani yogurt, that’s the only yogurt I buy. What’s your recipe for the Tuna rigatoni pasta?

    I always stop if a car has initiated reverse and it is safer to stop. Rude lady! Thanks for the meal ideas.
