These past two months I’ve been keeping a secret. Not really keeping a secret, just not mentioning a fun new chapter in our lives. I’m pretty superstitious and didn’t want to mention anything on the blog and jinx anything!
On Friday Keith and I will be closing on our first home out here in Arizona. We’ve been renting for about five years (we also own a home in Minnesota) and after getting our rental home foreclosed on us twice, we decided the market is stable enough to go ahead and take the plunge into the Arizona real estate market! We are putting our real estate license to good use! If you’ve been following my blog for a while, then you’ll probably remember Keith and I randomly got our real estate licenses last summer!
We are super excited and can’t wait to have the comfort in knowing we wont be foreclosed on again! Although I will miss the house we are living in a lot (it has the most amazing and large kitchen and is about 1000 square feet bigger than the house we’re buying) it has been good to us for almost three years and I’m ready to move onto something that is our own and we can put money into, to make it just how we want it! We’re actually planning on moving in sometime mid September after we’ve made some changes to the house. We need to be out of our current house by October 9th, so that gives us plenty of time to fix the house up a bit. It is in good condition and was built in 2006, but Keith and I don’t have the same taste as the past owner. The house we are buying is a foreclosure so it took a lot of back and forth with the bank before we agreed on a price, they were very slow to respond and would always make us wait over the weekend to hear back from them.
Not only do we not have to worry about getting our rental foreclosed on us again, this house also has a fenced yard for Quincy! He is going to LOVE it! Since he’s an Australian Shepherd, he needs a lot of exercise. I can run him ten miles and he wouldn’t wear out, so this fence is going to be so nice for him!
Another fun feature of the house is it is located in a private Arnold Palmer golf community so we get to have access to the pool and clubhouse! I can’t wait! We checked out the pool on Sunday and I can’t wait to finally be able to lay out and drink a fun fruity drink in the sun! We are not located directly on the golf course but the house is surrounded by three greens so it will be nice to see bright green grass from the windows. Arizona yards are basically just piles of rocks so any green is a welcome change!
I will post some before and after pictures as we start working on the house! I can’t wait to see it transform! So while Keith will be busy working on the ‘s big projects (painting walls, ceilings, trim, redoing the kitchen cabinets, taking up tile and relaying more tile, putting stone on the fireplace and installing all the new kitchen appliances), I’ll be busy at home trying to pack a big house while trying to entertain the baby! I went out and bought some boxes at Lowes at the beginning of the week. I figured even if we don’t plan on moving for a few more weeks, there is plenty of things that I can box up and we wont miss.
My workout yesterday was 45 minutes of cardio and core. It felt so good and I had a great sweat going. I think my pizza dinner from the night before helped me rock it out! I actually didn’t want to stop, but the baby was about at her wits end playing by herself so I knew I couldn’t do more.
Here are my eats from yesterday:
- Breakfast- 1/2 slice cheese pizza, decaf coffee, Ezekiel English muffin with peanut butter and jelly
- AM Snack- Clif Builder bar
- Lunch- Citrus smoothie (I broke in the new VitaMix)!
- PM Snack- Slice of cheese and baked banana
- Dinner- 1/2 glass of white wine, grilled chicken breast and a vegetable kabob
- Late Snack- Popcorn
I felt like I ate a lot yesterday and was a bit off my normal eating, but o-well. Nothing I can’t change and make healthier!
My one and only food picture from yesterday, I swear I took more!
We’ll that’s it for me!
We woke up to blood all over our carpet this morning. We don’t know what happened but Quincy’s leg is bleeding so I’ll be bringing him to the vet this morning! I’m hoping they put a cone on his head as he can’t leave it alone. Nothing like waking up at 5am and getting to work cleaning with the little green machine! I’ll tell you, I swear we never have a dull day in this house! Something is always going on!
I’m also planning on getting in my second and final cardio workout of the week and hoping to start packing!
I hope you all have a great and healthy day!
