Weekly Workouts and Grocery Prep

20 May

Hey guys!  How was the weekend?  Ours was really fun, we ate some good (bad for you foods) drank some wine and mojitos and stuck mostly around the house doing house projects.

We have just a few big ones left and we decided to tackle putting in new bathroom lighting fixtures and also putting up a new kitchen backsplash.  I know I said a while back I will post before and after pictures of our house so I think in less than a month everything will be done.  We also ordered a glass storm door (with a screen replacement) for our front door as well.  It should be in in about three weeks and I am so excited for that!  Our entry way is rather dark so this will just brighten things up a bit!  Once we get that installed I think we are done putting money into this house since we are outgrowing it so quickly (no I am not pregnant again, the house is just small and with three people and a dog we are quickly running out of space)!

I know I haven’t talked about one of my favorite things in a while on the blog so I’m bringing it back!

Last Weeks Workouts

  • Monday- Rest
  • Tuesday- Cardio
  • Wednesday- Cardio
  • Thursday-Legs (am), Cardio (pm)
  • Friday- Cardio

*I normally don’t do so much cardio and opt for more weights during the week, but last week, it was just impossible to get to the gym to get in more weight workouts.  Just a FYI so you guys know what I like to do.)

This Weeks Workouts

  • Monday- Cardio (gotta burn off my fries and quesadillas I ate yesterday, not to mention the Chinese food we ordered in on Saturday)
  • Tuesday- Intervals & Weights
  • Wednesday- Cardio
  • Thursday- Intervals & Weights
  • Friday- Cardio
  • Saturday- Intervals & Weights

I like working out five days a week.  I think that is very realistic with a 16 month old.  But I’m working towards a very specific goal over the next few weeks, so I want to try and get six workouts in this upcoming week.

I plan on posting a great leg super set workout tomorrow so check back for that!  My legs were so sore after it!

Yesterday Keith sent me back to the Home Depot around 6pm so I decided to swing thru Trader Joe’s while I was out and about.  Since we indulged over the weekend on some not so healthy foods and my body feels like it is super bloated, we are all about the fruits and vegetables this week.

We have six chicken breasts I baked over the weekend to eat up and I bought a lot of vegetables and fruits.

Here are some of the things I bought for this week (all fruits and vegetables are organic except the lemons and limes):

  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Red Potatoes
  • Banana
  • Green Bell Peppers
  • Tomatoes
  • Blueberries
  • Watermelon
  • Mushrooms
  • English Cucumbers
  • Eggs
  • Organic Greek Yogurt
  • Basil Plant
  • Avocados
  • Yellow Onions
  • Spinach
  • Romaine
  • Arugula
  • Organic Low Fat String Cheese
  • Kind Bars
  • Sugar Snap Peas
  • Hummus
  • Pesto
  • Broccoli
  • Pears
  • Lemons
  • Limes
  • Gorgonzola Cheese

I think that is about it!  As you can see we will be munching on lots of fruits and vegetables this week.  Lots of raw vegetables and fruits for snacks and also salads for lunch and dinner.  Breakfast will be either eggs and toast or green smoothies.  I will let you guys know our meal plan once I come up with it based off the foods I bought.  I am trying to plan before I buy but I just didn’t do it yesterday.

Today I will be washing and cutting up a lot of the vegetables so they make for quick grab and go snacks.

Well, that’s it for me!  I hope you all had a great weekend and are looking at this new week with positivity and excitement!

If you haven’t already, check out my new online store Chic Pipsqueak!  Lots of fun and cute items for babies and kids!  If you aren’t a mom, no worries, lots of fun gift ideas!  Smile

Trader Joes is so great. Ours is now in NH so I can get wine there too. 🙂 My TJ’s must haves include: nuts, edamame dip, arugula, brown rice tortillas, almond butter, almond milk, and broccoli slaw!
