I know Thanksgiving isn’t until next week but I wanted to publish this post well in advance. That way there is no excuse to not move a little bit on Thanksgiving.
My perfect Thanksgiving is waking up and going to the store to grab a few newspapers, a decaf coffee and a lot of lottery scratch off tickets (don’t ask, it’s a weird tradition Keith and I started about 5 years ago). I love spending a few lazy hours going through all the adds and watching the Macy’s Day Parade with the fireplace on in the background! Next up on my perfect Thanksgiving is moving! Yes, I love getting in a workout before showering up and getting ready to spend the rest of the day cooking in the kitchen. I love eating around 4pm and then just hanging out with family the rest of the day.
Working out on Thanksgiving reminds me to not over eat too much and also makes me feel just a wee bit better about how many calories I consume. It is also fun to do a Turkey Trot with friends and family if they are available in your area, that way everyone can get in on the fun!
I created this workout keeping in mind people might not have access to a gym, so this workout can be done at home as well as in a gym. Also, since you don’t need any equipment to do the workout, you can get the whole family involved! If you do the whole workout it should take about 40 minutes or so! A perfect way to sweat a bit before celebrating everything you are thankful for with the people you care about most!
