Tinnitus

By now you already know what it is. When you visit reputable clinics like Audiologie Centre-Ouest or even their website, you’ll be provided with a TFI questionnaire. The score of the TFI questionnaire provides the audiologists a ground on where to start the treatment so that the quality of your life can be improved.

  1. Reducing stress.
  2. Improving sleep.
  3. Decreasing the perception of Tinnitus.

Hyperacusis

This problem can be better described as sound intolerance. The patients become sensitive to high-intensity sounds of certain frequencies and it can interfere with the day-to-day life. Hyperacusis is also every musician’s nightmare. Having said that, if you have it, it doesn’t mean you should lose hope. Certain desensitization techniques can help.

The initial diagnosis of Hyperacusis is done pretty much by finding out the TFI score. Based upon the score, also the age of the patient because Hyperacusis can affect children too, you’re put on hearing therapies that will help you in adapting to sounds you’re sensitive to.
